Sharing Food

“Sharing food with another human being is an intimate act that should not be indulged in lightly.” ~ M.F.K. Fisher

Preparing food for people you love is the most honest form of affection there is. True joy is found in the process that comes from deep within your heart.

My husband appreciates and loves my cooking. Whenever I am putting together a meal or baking a pie, I am always thinking of him. My love flows directly to the food I am assembling. It is a connection, a joining of two souls through nourishment.

Tonight there will be fried chicken, green beans, and fresh cherry pie. Tonight I am drunk on love in the kitchen...even if the chicken is burnt. I never have quite mastered fried chicken. Shit. Good thing there’s wine.
